CREATURES OF THE NIGHT (K-6)

Learn about the animals and culture of Asia. “Travel” to places like Sumatra, Thailand, Malaysia, and Mongolia via guided tours, animal ambassadors, and hands-on activities. Learn how to make conservation connections in your classroom that help fulfill Colorado Model Content Standards.
NATURE OF CONSERVATION BIOLOGY (K-6)

Learn about the interdisciplinary science of conservation biology as well as the Zoo’s conservation programs with animals, habitats, and people all over the world. Take back activities based on critical thinking and hands-on exploration, while learning the importance of educating your students about how individual actions can help conserve our natural resources
LEARNING ABOUT LIFECYCLES (K-6)

Delve into the different lifecycles of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects. Explore each animal group in depth while taking time to tour the Zoo. Standards-based activities will be provided.

Colorado may have felt polar this winter, but it doesn’t compare to the harsh environment that animals like arctic foxes, polar bears, and snowy owls deal with all year long. Learn how these animals survive with their unique polar adaptations. Further your knowledge and activity base on subjects such as global warming and our polar connections.
WILDLIFE FOR SALE (K-12)

Explore the “Wildlife for Sale” curriculum and materials created by the World Wildlife Fund. This curriculum will provide you with the background information to bring endangered species issues and conservation back to your classroom. Become certified to check out the Denver Zoo’s own “Suitcase for Survival,” complete with endangered species biofacts and curriculum guide.
