then I-25 south, exit on the second Speer Blvd, exit left on Lawrence.
Bus: #16 to downtown Denver.

2. Insurance Companies: car insurance, Golden

3. Car Rentals: All will require that you buy car insurance.
- Budget: You must be at least 25 years old, have a valid driver's
license, a safe driving record, and a major credit card in your name. 341-2277,
8125 W. Colfax in Lakewood. Prices range from about $32 a day to $54 a
day, based on the size of the car.
- Alamo: Call Alamo at 1-800-327-9633. Will rent to driver aged
21-24 but with an underage fee of $15 a day extra.
- Thrifty: call Thrifty at the Sheraton Hotel at 6th and Union,
985-7756. They will pick up and take you to their offices if you rent a
car. Will rent to driver 21 and over, with extra daily fee of $10 if under
25 years. Need: valid driver's license, major credit card.
4. Driver's Licenses: Call 572-5620 for information. Tests are
available in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and others but the books to study
for the test are only in English. You must have proof of car insurance
with you when you take the driving test.

6. Food: marketplaces for international food
A. Middle Eastern food:

- International Market, 2020 S. Parker Rd, 695-1090, 6th Ave east,
I-25 south, exit 203 at Evans Ave., turn left, (east), street name changes
to Iliff, left on Parker, 2 blocks, on right. In Dayton Center shopping
center, across the street from the Islamic Center.
B. Asian Food: Thai, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese
- Asian Market: 333 S. Federal, 937-1431. Many stores.I-70 east,
exit south onto Federal. Or 6th Ave. east, south on Federal.
- Sakura Square, Denver, 1255 19th St., 295-0305,I-70 east, south
on I-25, exit onto Speer Blvd, then exit left onto Auraria Parkway and
right onto 19th.
7. Ethnic Restaurants:
Look in the yellow pages of
the telephone book, under "restaurants." After all the restaurants
are listed by name, there are listings under the types of food, such as
American, barbecue, Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Thai, etc. No restaurants
are listed here because they are too numerous and they often change names.

8. Shopping malls:
- Villa Italia: Bus #17, east. Drive: east on 6th Ave., exit south
on Wadsworth, left on Alameda. Department stores, large mall.
- Westland: Bus #17. Small mall. Drive east on Colfax.
- Cherry Creek Mall, downtown Denver. 6th Ave. east, right turn
on University, left turn on 1st Ave. Very nice department stores.
- Southwest Plaza, Littleton. C-470 south, turn east (left) at
Bowles. Mall is on both right and left before you reach Wadsworth. Many
department stores, etc.
9. Movie Theaters: See the newspapers for current listings. If
you want to read some reviews for movies playing now or movies on video,
there are great archives to read at this
site or at the New York Times Online.

paper)
- Villa Italia: See above.
- Union Square 6: Mann Theaters, west of Union on 2nd. Take 6th
Ave. east and exit to the right on Union, turn right on 2nd, theater is
on your left.
- Green Mountain, Mann theaters, 12344 W. Alameda. 6th Ave. east,
exit at Union, south on Union, right turn on Alameda. Theater is on the
left.
- Southwest Plaza, Mann theaters. Inside Southwest Plaza Mall.

Using the buses.
When you use the public bus service, called RTD, you can ask for a transfer
pass if you have to change buses. There is no charge for the pass and using
a pass means you don't have to pay again.
RTD fares are cheaper between 9:00 and 3:00. Before and after those
hours the buses are more crowded and therefore more expensive to use. You
must have exact change; no change will be given by the driver.
RTD schedules are in the INTERLINK secretary's office. A route map for
RTD is on the wall in the video room, or see the secretary.
RTD to downtown Denver: take bus 16, ride it to the end. Return by catching
the bus at the same sight where you got off.
