The Simulation Users Group offers an informal venue for Denver area oil and gas professionals to gather and share information on reservoir simulation. At monthly work sessions, the focus is on learning how to run free and low-cost simulation software, and on sharing input data files that expedite the implementation of such software.

The group is hosted by the Rocky Mountain PTTC. Contact Sandra Mark smark.95@alum.mines.edu or 303.273.3107 to join the group, or simply attend our upcoming work session.

Ralph Nelms, Senior Petroleum Engineers at Westport Resources rnelms@westportresourcescorp.com is the de facto leader of the group. Contact Ralph with suggestions for work session topics.

An important objective of the Simulation Users Group is the creation of a library of base cases (with input files and instructions) for various horizontal and vertical oil, gas, and coalbed methane well configurations. This collection is in the early development stage, but should prove to be a valuable resource for the petroleum community.
