Futures in Energy

Futures in Energy is an oil and gas industry outreach program that provides talented high school juniors and seniors with scholarships to an oil and gas technology training program.  Following the program, several paid summer internships with local exploration and production companies will be competitively awarded to qualifying students.

20 Scholarships to Training Classes

This five-day interactive training program will focus on oil and gas exploration, technology, and will include a field trip to visit actual oil field operations.  FREE room and board are included.

  • The program will be held June 9-13, 2008, at Pinedale High School, Pinedale, Wyoming. This is open to students outside of Colorado only.

  • The program will be held June 16-20, 2008, on-campus at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. This is open only to Colorado students.

Paid Summer Internships

Qualifying students will be offered the opportunity to complete a four-week or longer PAID internship after completing the training.  There are a limited number of internships that will be awarded competitively.  Students that receive an internship will work for a local sponsoring company in their home town, where an assigned mentor will convey knowledge and skills required for the job, and provide an orientation to the workplace and the oil and gas industry.
