Sarah - Time for Round Two!
So I’m back at Mines ready to rage through a new semester, definitely missing home, but so happy to be back at school with friends!!
After last semester, a whole month off from school was well deserved. However, I didn’t just sit around and relax over break, I worked! That may not sound like fun, but I have the best job ever! I work on the Polar Express and spent my first 10 days home spreading Christmas cheer to thousands of passengers! If you ever have the opportunity to spread some joy, and make the lives of others even just a little bit better, do it! Once Polar Express ended I spent a week chillin’ around my hometown with my high school friends, then took off for Texas to visit my relatives. I have to say it was an altogether amazing break that allowed for some necessary stress relief!
An important mind set on the Polar Express, you gotta love the big guy!
When my roommate and I got back to school, we decided that unpacking our bags would be the lame thing to do. So we grabbed another friend and took off to the aquarium! I’ve not been to many aquariums, but even so, I know for a fact that the Denver aquarium is the best aquarium ever!! There’s a flood, a clear underwater tunnel, and you get to pet stingrays at the end. It was so nice to spend time with friends and not have to worry about homework!
A stingray smiled at us from above when we were in the glass tunnel!!
Being back has been great, but being in class again is kind of a drag. My classes this semester involve more homework and are for the most part more difficult than in the fall. Physics II and Calculus 3 will be rough, and Nature and Human Values will be pretty work heavy with reading and paper writing (that’s right, just because you come to engineering school doesn’t mean you get to skip writing all together!) I have to say though that I am most excited for EPICS, the project this semester is… BATTLEBOTS!
I’ve got to get back into the groove of classes and studying, a month off from school did a number on my study habits! But all in all I think this semester will be pretty great!
