Sold out Colorado School of Mines Career Day scheduled for Sept. 13

GOLDEN, Colo., Sept. 7, 2011 – Colorado School of Mines Fall 2011 Career Day will be one of the largest in the university’s history featuring 206 companies. More than 40 companies were put on the wait list after the fair sold out in July.
Industry representatives from the areas of aerospace, construction and consulting as well as energy, mining and steel will be in attendance. Organizers expect more than 3,000 students and alumni from Colorado School of Mines to attend.
“The need for quality engineers from all industries continues to grow at a very healthy pace. Employers from all over the world certainly view Colorado School of Mines graduates at the top of their list. This is reflected in the wonderful response to Career Day registration as well as what is projected to be a banner recruiting season at the college,” said Jean Manning-Clark, Colorado School of Mines Career Center director.
Earlier this year, ranked Mines as the No. 1 public university in the nation for starting salaries of graduates with bachelor’s degrees with a median starting salary of $63,400 and a mid-career salary of $106,000. Mines ranked sixth among all colleges and universities, including private institutions, for starting salary.
