What are the Society of Women Engineers events?

The CSM student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers is one of the largest in the US. One of CSM's many traditions is that of holding a SWE event the evening before Career Day. This event celebrates and honors the contribution of women to the field of engineering and to the strength of CSM.

What are the fees for CSM Career Day? What do they include?

Career Day registration includes:

  • a 10' x 8' booth,
  • draped 6' table,
  • 3 folding chairs,
  • 7" x 44" sign with company name,
  • Faculty/Recruiter continental breakfast during set-up
  • lunch provided for up to 3 attentdees,
  • and a brief company description published in the Program Guide. The deadline for submitting the company description is listed below.

What are the advertising fees for the "Career Day Guide?"

    Advertising in the Program Guide is an excellent way to get your name out on campus. We publish both hard-copy and on-line versions of this very popular guide that is available to students, alumni and faculty.

    PROCEDURES FOR SHIPPING MATERIALS

    • The CSM receiving department will accept and store your materials until Career Day arrives. 

    • Mark “Career Day” very clearly, and in large letters, on each of your packages.  Please number each package (e.g., 1 of 2, 2 of 2, etc.)

    • Your Packages will be delivered to your booth for you to set up starting at 7:30 am the morning of Career Day.

    Please ship materials far enough in advance to assure adequate time for delivery.  We suggest shipping your materials 14 days in advance when possible.

    PROCEDURES FOR SHIPPING MATERIALS AFTER CAREER DAY

    • Prior to your arrival on campus, please make arrangements with your carrier to handle the shipping of your exhibit materials at the close of the show.
    • If you’re shipping materials back to your office, or on to another location, please notify your carrier that the pick-up location will be Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO 80401. 
    • Pick up will be after 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2007. 
    • We will designate space for all shipping companies.
    • At the end of Career Day, please properly seal your outgoing materials, attach COMPLETED RETURN SHIPPING FORMS and take them to the designated spaces.  
    • Carriers will not deliver to a P.O. Box, so please use your organization’s street address. 
    • PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE YOUR COMPANY’S ACCOUNT NUMBER TO BE BILLED ON ALL OUTGOING FORMS.

    UNLOADING/LOADING MATERIALS

    FALL CAREER DAY: If you carry materials with you, you may park temporarily on the East end of the Student Recreation Center (1651 Elm St.) to unload/load items. See campus map for the designated entrance and loading area for the CSM Student Recreation Center. Blue Key Ambassadors will be present to assist you.

    Can I register on-line?

    Registration for the Fall 2008 Career Day will open May 20, 2008. This event is expected to sell out quickly.

    • 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
      Employer check-in and booth set-up
      Faculty/Recruiter Continental Breakfast
    • 9:30 a.m.- Recruiting Fair Begins!
    • 11:30am - 2p.m. Buffet lunch provided for all registered participants. The Career Fair does not close for lunch..
      Afternoon - Light snack & refreshments will be available
    • 4:00 p.m. Exhibits close

    Career Day booths will need to be set up prior to the event.
    Your materials will be placed in your booth for you if you shipped them in advance.

    What are the DEADLINES?

    FALL CSM CAREER DAY 2008

    • Registration will open on May 20th and remain open until the event fills up, at which time it will be closed.
    • The deadline for company descriptions and ad copy is July 15, 2008, for these materials to be included in the Program Guide.
    • Companies who register after August 1, 2008 may not be included in the bound copy of the CSM Career Day Program Guide, but will be included in the Addendum.
    • Exhibitors are considered registered upon receipt of payment and the on-line registration.. Payment is due no later than 30 days after registration or two weeks prior to the event (whichever comes first), unless prior written arrangements have been made with the Career Center.
