Your Candidates....

President

Hello my name is Roxana Meza and I am a junior majoring in Chemical Engineering. I have been involved with SHPE since I was a freshman and I have been on the executive board for two years now, I have held the fundraising and Vice President positions. SHPE has enjoyed plenty of growth in my time here at Mines. There has been an increase in membership as well as added events and programs. I believe that with the proper organization and teamwork SHPE can continue to expand and become better known on the Mines' campus and the Denver Metro area.

Vice President

Public Relations

Hello my name is Sean Driscoll, current Public Relations (PR) officer, up for re-election to the PR position. I have worked hard this year to make SHPE a better organization on the Mines campus, and will continue to do so for as long as I am at Mines. A brief bit about me, I am a sophomore Physics major, and have been an active member since the beginning of my freshmen year. I hope that you will not only consider me for the Public Relations position, but also realize the importance of each and every one of you in making this one of the greatest organizations on campus.

Social Chair

I am Jessica Garcia and am currently a freshman majoring in Chemical Engineering. On campus I am an active member of SHPE, currently hold the social chair position for AISES and play Women's Lacrosse. I believe with the experience and knowledge gained from holding the chair in AISES I can apply it to SHPE and help to continue the growth and success of the chapter. Team work and a strong foundation are crucial for success and with the strong bases already in place and the bonds of friendship between all those running for positions, adding myself the SHPE E-Board would help aid to in another year of growth and success.

Bridge Coordinator

Treasurer

College Buddy

My name is Maximillian Martinez, I am a freshman and my major is Mechanical Engineering and I’m running for the College Buddy position in the SHPE E-Board for next year. I was in the Bridge Program where I worked with many of the E-Board members to better understand the requirements for each position on the board. I understand the requirements needed for this position and I will do my best to meet them. I will also do my best to get more people involved with College Buddy and improve the program itself.

and now ladies and gentlemen...

the greatest smackdown of all times...

a battle of gargantuan proportions.....

who will be SHPE'S new Secretary?

Hello, my name is Anjali (Angie) Jha. I am currently a freshmen studying chemical engineering. I am running for the position of secretary of SHPE for the 2008-2009 academic year. I was in the Bridge Program this past semester where I worked with the current E-Board members on various projects gaining the knowledge I do hope to carry on and expand upon as SHPE's secretary next year. I am very actively involved with MEP and SHPE starting off my career at Mines because of MEP's Challenge Program. I am very grateful to Alejandro Arceo, Roxana Meza and Sean Driscoll, along with all the other E-Board members and SHPE member's for all they have done this past year and I hope to keep striving to my highest potential, bringing new ideas, along the foundations they have started, and keeping SHPE alive and active for years to come. Thanks and vote for me! =]

vs.

Well my name is Ricardo Mendez, I am a Sophomore majoring in Petroleum Engineering. This is my second year in SHPE where I have seen and helped expand this organization to where it’s at today. One of my main goals is to maintain SHPE’s unity and maintain expansion. Nevertheless, SHPE has almost tripled in the last three years, so we need to maintain this. Besides that I love to play soccer and pretty much all sports and I will be working offshore this summer on an oil rig platform. I consider myself responsible, determined, and open, where I can offer much to SHPE. If you have any questions on anything, let me know. Thanks

your vote will determine this....
