AEG Student Chapter
Our Mission
The mission of the Student Chapter of AEG at Mines is to increase awareness of and interest in geological engineering among our student
body and within the community. In addition, we strive to make our members better engineers and geologists by presenting them with
real world engineering problems. We accomplish this by participating in various campus activities, offering bi-weekly speaker meetings,
field trips, taking part in Rocky Mountain Section activities, and by encouraging and assisting attendance at the AEG Annual Meeting.

Geological Engineering affects all aspects of our everyday lives, from the water we drink to the homes in which we live, even the food we eat. Geological engineering is essential to the construction of buildings, roads, and dams, as well as groundwater protection, environmental clean-up, agricultural irrigation, and natural hazards protection.
