I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Metallurgy and Materials Engineering
department at CSM. I am working at the National Renewable Energy Labratory
(NREL) on developing cost efficient absorber layers for CIS solar cells. I
have been a member of SWE for the last 4 years, and have been the CSM Secretary
for the last 2 years. I was also the Region i Collegiate Representative last
year. I strongly believe that SWE is one of the most beneficial organizations
to become involved with on campus and am very excited to be this year's SWE
President!
I am originally from Rock Springs, WY, and have transplanted to Colorado. I
enjoy most outdoor sports including hiking, camping, snowboarding, white water
rafting, ultimate frisbee, and running.

- Region I Conference Chair:
Jean Romersheuser
Jean is a native Coloradoan from Eagle. She has always enjoyed participating in many activities that include: camping, hiking, knitting, and reading. This is her fourth year at the Colorado School of Mines with plans to graduate the next year with a specialty in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. On campus Jean has been involved in Blue Key, Society of Women Engineers, a Mines Ambassador, and is a Conoco-Phillips Scholar. During the summer of 2006 Jean participated in an internship with ATK-Thiokol at their Promontory Point facility near Brigham City, Utah. Experiences with ATK were varied and included trying to improve performance on a robotic painter for the outside of the solid rocket boosters. The Utah experience also included a vicious bite from an unknown insect which left her with some reluctance to walk in the desert. Additionally, her summer allowed her to fine tune her golf game and acquire a new set of clubs.
