Wendlandt honored in Faculty Salutes Initiative by National Football Foundation and Fidelity Investments

GOLDEN, Colo., Dec. 19, 2011 – Dr. Richard Wendlandt, a professor in the Colorado School of Mines Geology and Geological Engineering Department, has been honored by the National Football Foundation and Fidelity Investments for efforts made on behalf of all faculty to the success of student athletes.
As part of the honor, Fidelity Investments will donate $5,000 to Mines for academic support services for student-athletes.
The faculty initiative is an extension of the scholar award, which honors college football’s most outstanding students with scholarships for post-graduate education. The faculty award acknowledges representatives from each school with a National Scholar-Athlete Award winner for helping to foster a strong connection between academic and athletic experiences.
