Locations and Hours

Academic Computing & Networking manages and operates one primary facility in the Center for Technology and Learning Media (CTLM) and supports several satellite facilities on campus. The main Computing Commons is located on the first floor of the CTLM in the east wing.  The east wing also houses the staff offices (2nd floor) and computer teaching labs on both the first and ground (basement) floors. Additionally, the west wing houses computer teaching labs, a 150 seat lecture hall, study rooms, MEL laboratories, the Physics Learning Studio (PLS), and the Center for Engineering Education (CEE).

Computing Commons facility (CTLM East)

Primary and evening/weekend access to the Computing Commons location in the CTLM is through the north door on the east wing of the building.  Elevator access is available during weekday daytime business hours or by special arrangement. The Front Desk area of the Computing Commons is in room 156A in the east wing and the AC&N main office is in 244.

Computing Commons Hours

Hours listed apply year-round except for CSM holidays, break periods, some summer periods, and special circumstances. Extended hours are implemented for several hours during the week before final exams. Limited hours or closings may occur at the end of semesters and during the summer. Changes from the listed hours will be posted in the facility and in the announcements section of the Academic Computing & Networking website.

The Computing Commons is a full-service facility during the normal working hours of 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Limited services are available outside of these hours.

Most central systems and services are available via modem or network connections 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, except when technical problems exist or for infrequent maintenance periods.  Planned outages are announced in advance through appropriate mechanisms.     - Back to Top -
