Software: AC&N Security-Related CDs
Introduction
From time to time it is useful to have a rapid means of distributing collections of security-related files to the Colorado School of Mines community, including the ability to distribute to individuals without adequate network connectivity. This page describes CDs we have made available (and also provides online access to them).
This may include antivirus software, specific virus removal tools, and critical patches to operating systems or certain applications. These will be products that we have license for, or are freely available.
AC&N recommends you have a current and verified backup before proceeding, and offers these files on an "as is" basis without warranty.
A secure SHA1 checksum for the complete .zip files is given below, and for each of the included files in each readme.txt. Each readme.txt has been signed with the GPG/PGP signature available at http://www.mines.edu/fs_home/dlarue/pgp/.
These should be verified if you are uncertain of the provenance of these files.
One usual place where these would be available would be the Computing Center Front Desk (Green Center 231), 303-273-3868, the Mines Help Center. Access to these files online, below, is limited to from an on-campus IP or by the ccavprog username and password obtained from here, and is an additional convenience.
Some of these collections of files below may be combined on single CDs. The Computing Center Front Desk maintains a Security Tools CD, available for check out and currently at version 20040929-v3.
