-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Academic Computing & Networking Colorado School of Mines http://helpdesk.mines.edu 303-273-3431 GC 231 February 25, 2005 This folder contains copies of the installation program for Authentium's CommandSoftware AntiVirus (under Microsoft Windows), licensed for use by Students, Faculty and Staff at the Colorado School of Mines, on CSM and personal machines located on and off campus (including laptops and at home). Ordinarily, you would obtain this program by visiting http://www.mines.edu/academic/computer/antivirus/ (including authenticating if need be). However, if you do not have sufficient Internet access at the moment (for example: you connect via a slow phone line; you have been denied access until you have virus checked and cleaned your machine; a worm, virus or bad configuration has disabled your networking; or there is an active worm in the wild whose existence suggests you protect your machine before putting it on the network), you may find this pre-downloaded installation helpful. To install: We recommend backing up your system regularly, frequently, and before significant changes. Optionally but recommended, uninstall any previous antivirus program, including Command's. Execute the setup.exe program by double-clicking on it and following the prompts. Reboot if directed. Then execute the .reg file that points the program to our site for updates command-antivirus-csm-registry-fixup-update-now-site.reg by double-clicking on it. To update the first time: This folder may include a file named DEFMSP.EXE. If it does, copy this file to your desktop or other convenient location on your C: drive, execute it by double-clicking it, which will extract a file named nnnnnn.msp (where nnnnnn are 6 digits), and then execute this .msp file by double clicking it. To update subsequently, once you are back on the network: Regularly (at least once a week) click the "Update Now..." button; or, set up Automatic Updates. See our website or contact us for further details. Then, scan your hard drives for viruses. AC&N recommends you have a current and verified backup before proceeding, and offers these files on an "as is" basis without warranty. A secure SHA1 checksum for the included files is given below, and the readme.txt has been signed with the GPG/PGP signature available at http://www.mines.edu/fs_home/dlarue/pgp/ These should be verified if you are uncertain of the provenance of these files. This folder is available for checkout on CD from the Computing Center Front Desk (Green Center 231) or by download from http://www.mines.edu/academic/computer/software/CDs/ What follows are the checksums of the files included. for /R %i in (*) do @hashsum.exe -a sha-256 %i 4125e113d8d53730adc131f9e9d3d4542d06bd207d8744f6bac7aa2cf88634cb command-antivirus-csm-registry-fixup-update-now-site.reg 3d7472e15455609bd21bdcb0ea38c25ae136a82bf6aae25a9c50fa41f1e25456 command-antivirus-installation.exe 3a57ef7fd587305c39ada818a0cf135564d216fc8cd0ed01061f909bd46c8d0c csav.msi 91b7ce4a6e6f35c5443e03a65df3ff6c1405c961bef600ae13facc80b56da027 CSM-antivirus.htm bfb25b0bd5181456961055595ce494fb3b974ee6926fdc8269afc691ad0452c5 CSM-antivirus.url 78acf65abf9891ae4183beb0a5769c2a2d5484b90ddbc179252fa4ed09825f2c Setup.exe 67f8b3f351c068f9ca7d7f914a45558b071dd8c691ce367e6818d1ff907413d1 setup.ini 669f2556f647ae94dba6c7e215aeb5c66fac770897df7612c3a0e24b48e66c9d SetupDLL.dll e25e96009c6627af2cd135c7665001d5372bb00274e79c17f9496c47e848792b CSM-antivirus_files\csm.jpg fd8ec6490ac9ba08662c690c9b4f5ff9546b990259dd6821209db00a7bcf4a51 CSM-antivirus_files\menu.jpg - - -- David M.
