CSM Symantec Antivirus can be downloaded from the CSM Software Download Site, which will require you verify your CSM status by logging in with your AC&N email username (do not include @mines.edu) and password.

General Description:

Antivirus software to automatically and manually scan for viruses or other malicious and/or threatening programs, in addition to regular virus definition updates.

 

Scope of License:

CSM community-wide site license includes faculty, staff and student home use.

 

Details of License:

CSM Symantec Antivirus is available for installation on campus and home machines for use by faculty, staff and students.

 

Cost to CSM end-user:

CSM Academic Computing and Networking does not currently charge for the use of this license, provided it is removed from any personally owned machines upon separation from CSM.

 

Media and Licensing Mechanisms:

CSM Symantec Antivirus can be downloaded from the CSM Software Download Site, which will require you verify your CSM status by logging in with your AC&N email username (do not include @mines.edu) and password.

 

Frequency of Updates:

Minor upgrades to the program itself may be issued several times a year.  The virus definitions are normally updated at least weekly, but may be updated more often depending on emerging threats.
