Dr. Ira Sohn -a visitor to the Divison of Economics and business in the summer 2006, 2007, and 2008,co-authored two major studies on fuel and non-fuel mineral projections. Read his re-assessment of the accuracy of projections.

2007-08 Graduation Student/Faculty Achievement Winners:

Marty Gaupp walked away with the William Jesse Coulter Award for outstanding academic achievement in Economics. The Hubert and Sarah Riser Award in Mineral Economics given for all-around performance was presented to Mark Helms. Melanie Mahoney won the Broussard Award for Engineering Technology Management. This award is given to ETM students for outstanding academic achievement.were honored for being the Outstanding Economic and Business Senior. The December 2006 winner was.

The teaching awards for excellence in the classroom for 2007-2008 were awarded to Cigdem Gurgur for Engineering and Technology Management; Graham Davis for Mineral Economics, and Scott Houser for the Undergraduate Teaching Award.

A new award for 2007-08 is "Researcher of the Year". This award is given to the faculty member who has published or submitted the most research this year. Alexandra Newman was the recipient of this award.
