GEOL 598B - Structural Methods for Seismic Interpretation (3 semester hours - lecture + lab: Next Course FALL 2004)

The main aim of this course is to introduce you to a variety of structural and stratigraphic relationships that I feel are critical in making better interpretations of your seismic data.

GEOL 698B Syn-Sedimentary Growth: An Integrated Structural and Sedimentary Geology Course

The main aim of this course is to understand the influence of structural processes on the stratigraphic architecture of hydrocarbon reservoirs. This will involve a review of the published literature and a description of the general types of structure that influence the stratigraphic record. We will evaluate the current criteria used to identify structural growth and its effect on deposition in a variety of settings. Students will then be assigned either project and/or topic areas incorporating a variety of data from a growth setting, and will assess the control of structural processes on stratigraphic development. Our ultimate goal is to formulate a set of criteria for assessing the influence of structural growth on reservoir development in a variety of settings.
