Scholarship Description

The National Science Foundation has funded a scholarship program at the Colorado School of Mines with a threefold purpose:

  1. To recruit both freshmen and graduate students to degrees in either Engineering or Mathematical and Computer Sciences through the appeal of Humanitarian Engineering or Outreach Scientist projects.
  2. To retain these students through their degrees with the help of several support networks.
  3. To assist students with career placement upon graduation through a relationship with the CSM Career Center.

Eight undergraduate students will be awarded a maximum of $5000/year toward tuition and six graduate students will be awarded a maximum of $10000/year toward tuition. All awards are based on financial need. All scholarship recipients will be required to complete humanitarian engineering or outreach scientist projects under the direction of a research advisor.
