for partially coated obstacles

We consider the scattering of electromagnetic waves by an
anisotropic dielectric partially coated by a thin layer of highly
conductivity material, or a perfect conductor partially coated by
a dielectric material. These considerations yield mixed type
interface or boundary value problems for Maxwell's equations in
R3.
Variational approaches for solving the direct scattering problems
are presented. Uniqueness and reconstruction results for the
inverse problem of determining the support of the scatterer from
a knowledge of the incident time harmonic electromagnetic wave
and the far field pattern of the scattered wave are given.
