Travel Information



Denver International Airport (DIA) is about 40 miles from Golden. It is about 25 miles north east of Denver. It has direct flights to London (British Airways) and Frankfurt (Lufthansa). It is a United hub.

Golden is about 15 miles west of Denver. The easiest way to get from DIA to Golden is by shuttle bus, operated by Golden West Commuter. The fare is $26 from DIA to Golden, one way. Reservations are not required; there is a desk in the main terminal building.

[There are city buses from DIA to Denver and from Denver to Golden, but there is no direct bus between DIA and Golden.]

If you decide to rent a car at DIA, you will be able to park on campus. Most of the major rental companies have desks at DIA; there is a list here.

For directions to CSM, look here at the `Denver area map'. To drive from DIA to Golden, leave DIA along Pena Boulevard. After about 10 miles, this meets I-70 at junction 285; go west towards Denver. After 20 miles, leave I-70 at junction 265 along highway 58; this road is signposted for Golden and CSM. After about 5 miles, take the exit for Washington Avenue; at the traffic lights, go left. Drive 12 blocks and then turn right on 19th Street. After 4 blocks, turn right on Elm Street; Weaver Towers are to your right.

The reception desk at Weaver Towers will be staffed on Saturday and Sunday, from 2-10pm. If you arrive outside these times, there is a red phone with a number to call; late arrivals are expected.
