Graduate Application Information

Teaching and Research Assistantships are available to qualified M.S. and Ph.D. candidates in Applied Physics and in CSM's interdisciplinary Materials Science Program. Areas of interest include: photovoltaics, ultrafast lasers and quantum optics, novel microscopy, nuclear physics experiment and theory, condensed matter physics, electronic materials experiment and theory, nanophysics, and soft materials physics. You can begin the application process on-line, here. Application forms and a brochure describing our program are also available by request to the campus graduate office and to the email address below.  The application deadline for fall admission each year is typically March 15 of the prior spring. Earlier submission is encouraged, however, since applications are reviewed as received. We generally complete all admission decisions before April. If you plan to apply for financial assistance, you must take the Physics Graduate Record Examination. Foreign applicants who wish to be considered for financial assistance must also take the TOEFL examination. For more information about application forms, deadlines, selection criteria, etc. please contact Prof. Jeff Squier, Department of Physics, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO 80401, call (303) 384-2385, or email jsquier@mines.edu.
