Robert "Rob" Applegate (BSc '03/Public Affairs minor, currently working toward a degree in applied physics with a minor in applied optics) and his wife Natalie had a baby boy, Christopher Dane, on February 24, 2007. Congratulations! (3/07)

James A. Casey (BSc '98) finished his masters in material science from the University of Maryland, College Park in December 2005. He left his job at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC to take a position as new materials process development engineer at Dow Corning in Midland, Michigan. He plans to start law school in the fall 2008 at Santa Clara University. His research interest is in the development and implementation of novel characterization techniques in the area of imaging and spectroscopy to obtain a better fundamental understanding of biological systems and the process of biomass conversion, on a nanometer/micron-level scale, which is used in the area of alternative and renewable energies.
