Nine additional
hours must consist of one 3-credit course from each of the three
participating departments. Six hours must consist of an independent
study, focusing on an industry project. The remaining 12 hours may
consist of graduate courses from any of the three participating
departments, or other courses approved by the PMPRS committee.

Requirements
Applicants to
the Petroleum Reservoir Systems program are expected to have completed
the equivalent of a four-year bachelor’s in a related discipline.
Those with degrees in unrelated fields are occasionally accepted;
however, they must complete deficiency courses prior to or concurrent
with taking graduate courses.
Students apply
into the program through one of the participating departments: Geology
& Geological Engineering, Geophysics, or Petroleum Engineering.
Students apply through the department in which they want a faculty
advisor.

The above deadline
dates are a guideline for students. The PMPRS review committee is
willing to review applications beyond these dates. International
applicants should take visa processing time into consideration when
submitting an application beyond the deadline. The above dates are
provided to ensure adequate time for admission review and visa processing
should you be admitted.
Financial
Assistance
Financial support may be available to select students through teaching
assistantships. These awards generally cover tuition, fees and a
monthly stipend in exchange for work performed. As a non-thesis
program, research assistantships are not available to professional
masters students.
Additional funding is available through federal student loans.
