Reporting Alleged Copyright Infringement

Pursuant to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, Colorado School of Mines has designated the below-identified agent for receiving notifications about the unauthorized on-line use of copyrighted materials:

In notifying us of an alleged copyright infringement, please provide the following:
  • identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infinged, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single on-line site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works at that site;
  • identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and information reasonably sufficient to permit CSM to locate the material;
  • your address, telephone number, and if available, an electronic mail address at which you can be contacted;
  • a statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  • a statement by you that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
  • a physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Failure to provide all of the above-listed information may result in a delay in the processing of your complaint.

Colorado School of Mines Computing and Networking Resource and Responsible Use Policies provide for the termination of computing and networking privileges of those users who repeatedly infringe the copyrights of others.
