Astronaut presents ‘Science experiments in space: A personal account' GOLDEN, Colo., March 26, 2007 – Dr. Greg Linteris will share his experiences on the Spacelab Microgravity Sciences Mission (MSL-1), a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Space Shuttle mission devoted exclusively to science experiments, at 6 p.m. April 2 at Colorado School of Mines in Metals Hall, Green Center, 924 16 th St.
While the STS-83 mission was cut short due to concerns over one of the three power-generating fuel cells, NASA successfully re-flew the mission just three months later as STS-94 — the first mission in the history of manned space flight in which the same crew flew together again in space. Linteris' presentation is sponsored by Colorado School of Mines Center for Space Resources. Founded in 1874, Colorado School of Mines was established to serve the needs of the local mining industry. Today, the School has an international reputation for excellence in both engineering education and the applied sciences with special expertise in the development and stewardship of the Earth's resources.
