Mines ROTC cadet receives Legion of Valor honor

GOLDEN, Colo., Sept. 23, 2009 – Colorado School of Mines Army ROTC Cadet Christopher Siok has been awarded the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross. Siok is the only cadet from 5th Brigade to receive this honor. 
Siok, from Alaska, is a senior at Mines majoring in mechanical engineering. With a GPA of 3.757, Siok is on the Dean’s List and is ranked 33 out of approximately 2,500 (1.33 percentile) on the National Active Duty Order of Merit List, and 39 out of approximately 5,500 on the National Order of Merit List. The Active Duty top 10 percent are guaranteed their first choice of service branch. He plans to graduate and commission as an Army 2nd Lieutenant in May 2010.
 
Siok will receive the cross and a certificate from The Legion of Valor of the United States of America, Inc. this fall.
