Mines celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day
GOLDEN, Colo., Jan. 10, 2008 – Members of the community are invited to join Colorado School of Mines students, staff and faculty in celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Jan. 21 from 5:15 to 7 p.m. in the Green Center, 924 16th St., on the Mines campus in Golden.
“Diversity provides broad appreciation of different cultures, recognizes the changing demographics of tomorrow’s leaders, and provides a learning environment for our students more indicative of the world they’ll live in,” said Mines President M.W. “Bill” Scoggins.
Reverb and the Verse, a progressive hip-hop group, will offer stimulating music while citizens and students explore different service options.
