Mines hosts open house honoring veterans

GOLDEN, Colo., Oct. 31, 2008 – Colorado School of Mines Military Science Department is holding an open house to honor veterans on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ROTC House, 1400 Maple St., on the school’s campus in Golden.

Veterans, active duty and civilians are invited to add names to the Wall of Honor, complete paperwork to honor someone through the U.S. Army-sponsored Freedom Team Salute Program, and participate in a moment of silence to honor all U.S. service personnel and enjoy cake and punch.

ROTC has had a presence on the Mines campus since 1919.

Founded in 1874, Colorado School of Mines was established to serve the needs of the local mining industry.
