Applying to Graduate School at Colorado School of Mines
The Graduate School at Mines recommends you use the online application when applying to our graduate programs.
A complete application is required for consideration for acceptance into a graduate program for our current Mines undergrads, U.S. citizens and permanent residents, and international applicants.
If you are interested in taking non-degree courses, or courses as a foreign exchange student, and you have already obtained a Bachelor's degree, you are required to complete the graduate application as well.

All application materials should be sent directly to the Graduate Office.
We begin your application file after you have submitted and paid for your application. Your application does not have to be complete for submission. We will add application materials to a submitted application as it is received. You can check the status of your application online using your application PIN and password.
When all of the required application materials have been received, your application is complete and the Graduate Office submits your application to the department for review.
You will receive e-mail messages during this process. Please make sure your e-mail on file is valid.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all application materials are received by the deadline date.
After an application has been reviewed by the department, the decision is sent to the Graduate Office. You will be notified of your official decision letter from the Dean of Graduate Studies via e-mail. Additionally, some departments will send an informational letter in the mail or via e-mail.
Questions regarding submitted applications before an admissions decision has been made should be directed to Kay Leaman.
Questions regarding an official decision letter received should be directed to Linda Powell.
