Mines hosts Space Resources Roundtable

GOLDEN, Colo., June 8, 2010 – Colorado School of Mines will host the Space Resources Roundtable June 8-10 on the school’s campus in Golden, Colo.
 
The Space Resources Roundtable will bring together space professionals, natural resources industry personnel and entrepreneurs interested in developing the resources of space. The goal of the roundtable is to advance prospects for the commercial development of space resources through information exchange among government, commercial and academic organizations.
 
Highlights include plenary talks by NASA and Canadian Space Agency officials and a report on the latest findings of water and other volatiles on the moon and its impact on science and resource utilization.
 
A lunar and martian equipment demonstration (featuring rigs from NASA, industry and Mines) will be held from 12:30-3:30 p.m June 9 in the parking lot at Elm Street and West Campus Drive.
 
The meeting is a joint conference with the Planetary and Terrestrial Mining Sciences Symposium. Officials are expecting scientists and engineers from various space agencies, industry and academia to attend.
