The HYDRUS software package is a major upgrade and extension of the HYDRUS-2D/MESHGEN-2D software package (originally developed and released by U.S. Salinity Laboratory, International Groundwater Modeling Center, and PC-Progress). HYDRUS has a completely new graphical environment for both two- and three-dimensional applications and should provide users with much more comfort than the original HYDRUS-2D software. This new software is released under the name HYDRUS and its different versions (called below levels) will encompass both two- and three-dimensional applications.
HYDRUS
provides users with the flexibility to purchase only that segment of the software
that they need. Table 1 contains description and pricing
of five available HYDRUS Levels and their brief description. Users can thus
select software only for two-dimensional or for both two- and three-dimensional
applications, or for simpler or complex geometries. Users are able to upgrade
from any lower HYDRUS Level to higher Levels, as well as from older software
(HYDRUS-2D or HYDRUS-2D/MESHGEN-2D) to any new HYDRUS Level. Multiple user licenses
for up to 20 PCs are priced at the double price of a single license. The regular
updates will be provided free of charge for the next two years).
New Features
Graphical User Interface:
Completely new GUI based on Hi-End 3D graphics libraries.
Calculations:
Water flow in a dual-porosity system allowing for preferential flow
in fractures or macropores while storing water in the matrix (Simunek et al.,
2003).
System Requirements
Intel Pentium or higher processor, 16 Mb RAM, hard disk with at least 20 Mb free disk space, VGA graphics (High Color recommended), MS Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP
License Information
The HYDRUS license is protected by a software lock that is based on information about your hardware. Without activation HYDRUS works as a demo version - you can run it but you will not be able to run calculation and save your data.
How to activate HYDRUS:
Before activation we recommend you to download the latest HYDRUS version.
After installation of the HYDRUS on your computer go to the "Hydrus Activation" dialog and generate authorization codes specific for your computer. Send us these codes via e-mail.
We will generate activation codes according to the license type that you have purchased and send you these codes back.
After entering these codes your HYDRUS will be activated.
HYDRUS reinstallation or moving to another computer:
With a "single user" license you are eligible to install and use HYDRUS on two computers (for example a computer in your office and your notebook).
If you reinstall HYDRUS on an activated computer or if you install a newer HYDRUS version then your previous authorization will remain active. However, HYDRUS must be installed on the same hard drive (not necessarily to the same directory) as the previous installation.
Before any hardware changes or reinstallation of Windows
OS or if you want to move your license to another computer you should deactivate
HYDRUS on the original computer. Go to the Hydrus Activation dialog
and press button "Deactivate
HYDRUS".
Click Yes.
Save DeactH3D.lf in the folder you want to save.

Send us a copy of the file that will be created during the deactivation.
After you finish HYDRUS installation on the new computer you will have to
activate it in the same way as described above.
