HIGHLIGHTS

  • Avoid your browser's Back button, as results can be unpredictable.
Catalyst Instruction: Using the Icons and Buttons
Icon/Button Activity
Reloads the Search page and allows you to begin a new search.
Displays the headings from your most recent search.
Displays the titles from your most recent search.
Displays links to electronic resources such as indexes and databases.
Displays help pages about various topics in Catalyst.
Displays a record of searches and allows you to re-execute or edit a previous search
Allows you to access your Catalyst Account or place requests for books and other items.
Places requests for items currently checked out or renewed, or submit an Interlibrary Loan request or Acquisitions request. 
Ends your Catalyst session. 
icon Displays the previous page. If this icon is "grayed out" there are no previous pages to view.
icon Displays the next page. If this icon is "grayed out" there are no previous pages to view.
icon Enables you to narrow your searches by restricting them to certain years, languages, formats, or locations within Catalyst.
icon Deactivates any limits set earlier in your session.
icon Limit Results in Title Lists after searching to change or select additional limits. The search is not rerun, the limits are  imposed against the current results. 
icon Lists the See or See Also reference(s) related to the Heading you selected from a Heading List.
Title, Author, Publisher, Publication Date, and Location information appear for each item.
In addition to the information that appears in the Brief View, Subject Headings, Notes, etc., appear for each item.
Displays item information in MARC coded format. This view is primarily for Library Staff.
