Personalizing Catalyst with "MyCatalyst"

HIGHLIGHTS

MyCatalyst displays the items you have checked out or requested, and shows you any fines on your account. You can also use it to:

Setting Search Preferences:

	Click on the Catalyst selection on the Arthur Lakes Library web page.
	Click on the My Account button.
	Fill in your 8-digit Campus-Wide ID and last name.
	Click on the My Catalyst button at the top of the screen. Search Preferences for search type, index and results allow you to specify the defaults most relevant to your searching habits and research needs. You can elect to set the Custom or Course Reserve tab as your default (once you are logged in). You can also set default search types.
	Remember to logout of Catalyst when you are done!

Using the Bookbag:

	Click on the Catalyst selection on the Arthur Lakes Library web page.
	Click on the My Account button.
	Fill in your 8-digit Campus-Wide ID and last name.
	Once you are logged in, search for a book that you wish to place in your Bookbag. At the bottom of the Item Record, click on the Save Records To Bookbag button to save the item to your Bookbag.
	To view or manage your Bookbag, click on the Bookbag button at the top of the screen. With Catalyst's Bookbag you may select a save records from multiple searches for future use. After executing a search, you select the records to be saved in your Bookbag and then use the Save To Bookbag button in the Save/Print dialog box. You can maintain up to 1000 records in your Bookbag.
	Remember to logout of Catalyst when you are done!

Saved Searches and SDI (Selective Dissemination of Information)

	Click on the Catalyst selection on the Arthur Lakes Library web page.
	Click on the My Account button.
	Fill in your 8-digit Campus-Wide ID and last name.
	Once you are logged in, conduct the search that you wish to save. At the bottom of the Title List, click on the Save Search Query button to save your search. Your search will automatically be saved.
	In order to view your saved searches, or to re-execute a saved search, click on the Save Search Query button at the top of the screen. The Save Search feature permits you to establish frequently used search queries in your patron profile, making it easy for you to re-execute those searches in future sessions without re-keying. You can save up to 25 search queries. The SDI (Selective Dissemination of Information) functionality builds upon the Save Search feature by automating the search process. Using the search queries established in your profile, Catalyst will, at intervals defined by you, search the database and report via an email any matches.
	Remember to logout of Catalyst when you are done!
