About Our Project

"Mining and Mineral Industries in the US: Photographic Perspectives" is a collaborative pilot project of the Arthur Lakes Library and the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, funded by the Colorado Digitization Project. Our collection depicts mining and related activities, with emphasis on Colorado and the western US; images date from the late 1800s to the present. Images show mining operations, processing, transportation, miners, mining towns and families, landscapes, and scenes from our institutions' histories.

In addition to photographs, we have:

Stereo Pairs
Souvenir and Post Cards
