Exporting Citations to from another Database
Citations can be exported from a database and than imported into EndNote Web. Exporting citations is of course a little different in each database.
Databases (list is not exhaustive)

Academic Live (Microsoft)
In Academic Live (note that citations have to be exported one at a time)
  1. Click "EndNote"
  2. Mouse over a citation
  3. Click "Export to EndNote"
  4. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  5. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from Academic Live
  4. From the pull down menu, select "RefMan RIS"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

ASCE Conference Proceedings
In ASCE Conference Proceedings
  1. Select records
  2. Select "EndNote (R) (generic)" from pull down menu
  3. Click "Go"
  4. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  5. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from ASCE Conference Proceedings
  4. From the pull down menu, select "EndNote Import"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

CSA (Conference Papers Index, EIS, Environmental Science & Pollution Management, GeoRef, METADEX, NTIS, TOXLINE, Weldasearch, etc.)
In a CSA database
  1. Select records
  2. Click "Save, Print, Email"
  3. Select "Use x Marked Records" and select your "file format" and click "save"
  4. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  5. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from the CSA database
  4. From the pull down menu, select the import format for the CSA database
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

Ebsco (Academic Search Premier, AGRICOLA, Business Source Premier, etc.)
In a Ebsco database
  1. Click "Add" to select records
  2. Click "Folder has items"
  3. Click "Export"
  4. Select "Direct Export to EndNote, ProCite, or Reference Manager"
  5. Click "Save"
  6. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  7. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from the Ebsco database
  4. From the pull down menu, select "RefMan RIS"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

Energy Citation Database (from the Department of Energy)
In Energy Citation Database
  1. Select records
  2. Click "Show only (√) Items"
  3. Click "Download (√) Items as EndNote"
  4. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  5. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from the Energy Citation Database
  4. From the pull down menu, select "EndNote Import"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

Engineering Village (Compendex & Inspec)
In Compendex or Inspec
  1. Select records
  2. Click "Download"
  3. Select "RIS, EndNote, ProCite, Reference Manager"
  4. Click "Download"
  5. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  6. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from Compendex or Inspec
  4. From the pull down menu, select "Ei Compendex (Ei)"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

Gale (Expanded Academic ASAP, InfoTrac OneFile, & LegalTrac)
In a Gale database
  1. Select records
  2. Click "Marked Items"
  3. Click "Citation Tools"
  4. Select "EndNote" and click "Export"
  5. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  6. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from the Gale database
  4. From the pull down menu, select "RefMan RIS"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

In GeoScienceWorld
  1. Select records
  2. At the bottom of the page, select "download to citation manager"
  3. Click "Go"
  4. Click "Download ALL Selected Citations to Citation Manager"
  5. Click "EndNote"
  6. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  7. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from GeoScienceWorld
  4. From the pull down menu, select "EndNote Import"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

Google Scholar
In Google Scholar (note that citations have to be exported one at a time)
  1. Click "Import into EndNote"*
  2. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  3. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from Google Scholar
  4. From the pull down menu, select "EndNote Import"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

*If the "Import into EndNote" link is not visible, click "Scholar Preferences" and select "Show links to import citations into" and "EndNote." Click "Save Preferences." The link should now be visible.

In IEEE Xplorer
  1. Select records
  2. Click "view selected items"
  3. Select if you want the citation or the citation and abstract from the pull down menu
  4. Select "EndNote/ProCite/RefMan" from the pull down menu
  5. Click ">>"
  6. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  7. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from Prospector
  4. From the pull down menu, select "RefMan RIS"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

  3. Click "Retrieve Marked"
  4. Use the save feature of your browser
  5. Enter a file name, select "Text File" from pull down menu, and click "Save"
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from MathSciNet
  4. From the pull down menu, select "EndNote Import"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

OCLC (Arts and Humanities Search, BasicBIOSIS, Biology Digest, Business and Industry, Consumers Index, Dissertation Abstracts, EconLit, ERIC, GEOBASE, WorldCat, etc.)
In an OCLC database
  1. Select records
  2. Click "Export"
  3. Select what you want to "Export" and select "EndNote (get latest filters)"
  4. Click "Export"
  5. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  6. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from an OCLC database
  4. From the pull down menu, select the import format for the OCLC database
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

In Prospector
  1. Select records
  2. Click "Save Marked Records"
  3. Click "Export Saved"
  4. Select "End-Note/RefWorks" and select "Local Disk"
  5. Click "Submit"
  6. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  7. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from Prospector
  4. From the pull down menu, select "EndNote Import"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

  1. Select records
  2. Click "Export Citations"
  3. Select the "Content Format" the you want and select "RIS format (for Reference Manager, ProCite, EndNote)"
  4. Click "Export"
  5. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  6. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from ScienceDirect
  4. From the pull down menu, select "RefMan RIS"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

In SciFinder Scholar
  1. Select records
  2. Click "Save As"
  3. Select the drive for your memory stick (since it is a public computer, documents cannot be saved to the hard drive)
  4. Select "Tagged Format (*.txt)" as the "Save as type"
  5. Enter a name and click "Save"
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from SciFinder
  4. From the pull down menu, select "SciFinder (CAS)"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

  1. Select records
  2. Select "Selected records on page"
  3. From the pull down menu, select the format
  4. Click "Save to My EndNote Web"
If successful, records will be in unfiled folder.

OR

In Web of Science

  1. Select records
  2. Select "Selected records on page"
  3. From the pull down menu, select the format
  4. Click "Export to Reference Software"
  5. Select "Save" and click "Ok"
  6. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from Web of Science
  4. From the pull down menu, select "Web of Science (ISI)"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.

  1. Select records
  2. Click "Exporting/Citing"
  3. Click "Saving, Citing and Formatting for bibliographic software"
  4. Select your records
  5. Select "All Citation Fields/Custom display"
  6. Select "For exporting to Bibliographic Software" and click "Save"
  7. In the new browser window, select file and save
  8. Rename file, if you wish, and remember where you saved it!
In EndNote Web
  1. Click "Collect"
  2. Click "Import References"
  3. Click "Browse" and find the file saved from Wilson
  4. From the pull down menu, select "WilsonWeb"
  5. Click "Import"
If successful, you will receive a message "Number of records imported: x" where x is some number other than zero.
