SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) E-Library papers are available online in full text for CSM users, but the path to them is not obvious. You must establish an account using a CSM IP address computer, and log in to that account to get full text access at no charge to you.

Get full text of SPE Papers

1. Connect to the SPE E-Library from the Library Databases page, or directly to http://www.spe.org/elibrary.

If you are off-campus, use the VPN to establish a CSM IP address (for info: http://www.mines.edu/library/Database/connecting.html

 2. At the SPE E-Library website, click the Login button, upper right. If you are a first time user, follow the New User Registration. Otherwise, log in. You should see “Welcome Your Name.”

 3. Search for paper/papers of interest. Add to Cart.

 4. View Cart. Cost should show $0.00. This message should show: "Your downloads are covered by the Colorado School of Mines corporate subscription." Member/Subscriber Checkout.

 5. Enter your name and e-mail address. Continue.  

6. Read the copyright notice and check the box in the Copyright and Limitations area. Complete Order.

 7. Download Now.  OR  Watch for an e-mail with subject line “eLibrary Purchase.”  It will include a link to the paper. You have 6 days to download it, after that the link expires.

 8. Log out when you are finished.
