The Symposium will be held in Berthoud Hall, 1516 Illinois Street, in the heart of the CSM campus.  This historic building, constructed in 1938, was designed by famed architect Temple Buell (1895-1990), who earned national recognition as an architectural visionary, originally conceptualizing the “central-mall” shopping center and designing the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, which became the model for similar malls throughout the nation.  Buell designed more than 300 buildings which have become part of Colorado’s architectural legacy, with a number now listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The primary Symposium venue will be Room 241 in Berthoud Hall, which was recently constructed at the site of the former CSM Geology Museum.  The lecture hall provides tiered seating for 150, and features state-of-the-art audiovisual services.  An adjacent classroom, Room 243, will be available for additional events at the Symposium.
