RESEARCH FACILITIES

Research projects are developed by mutual agreement between individual sponsors and ACSEL faculty. Participation by sponsor technical personnel is encouraged. Students are encouraged to acquire internships at sponsor facilities.

Long term research programs are conducted as the basis of M.S. and Ph.D. theses. Shorter term projects can be conducted using postdoctoral fellows and research/technical staff.

REPORTING PROCEDURES

Progress reports are presented to all sponsors on a regular basis as requested by sponsors and at the annual ACSEL workshops held at CSM in the spring of each year. Sponsors may send as many representatives as they wish to the workshops. Personnel from companies considering joining ACSEL are welcome to attend.

All sponsors receive technical reports and theses. Papers will also be published in archival international materials journals..

PATENT POLICY

Industry-owned patents can be negotiated for separately, fully-funded projects. A small percent of the net royalties nregotiated are to be returned by the sponsor to Colorado School of Mines.

FINANCIAL PARTICIPATION

Each research project is separately negotiated and budgeted.
