Description of Funds:
The National Science Foundation's Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarships program has awarded the Colorado School of Mines scholarship funds. The purpose of these funds is to support and attract women and minority students to the fields of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics. Forty one-year scholarships (20 undergraduate and 20 graduate) in the amount $3,125 ($1562.50 per semester) will be awarded during the 2002-03 academic year. These scholarships may be renewed for an additional year after the initial award.
As part of this grant, all scholarship recipients will be expected to participate in five hours of research each week. These research projects are expected to be at a substantive level. In the fall of 2002, eligible undergraduate students must be entering their junior year and eligible graduate students must be approximately two years from completing their degrees.
The purpose of this notice is to solicit applications of qualified students.
