Mission
The Center for Mine Mechanization and Automation (CMMA) was established at the Colorado School of Mines to foster the development and utilization of advanced automated mining techniques throughout the world, thus increasing mine efficiency and productivity as well as improving the health, safety and working conditions of personnel within the industry.
The Center is directed by a Board of Directors, with guidance and counsel provided by an International Committee composed of distinguished professional from 20 different countries. The CMMA hosts the bi-annual "International Symposium on Mine Mechanization and Automation" at venues throughout the world. There have been a total of 5 symposia thus far. Our Next Conference
The 6th International Symposium on Mine Mechanization and Automation, Sandton, South Africa, 25-28 September 2001.
The symposium is be hosted by the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
An exhibition will be run in conjunction with the symposium.
