Residence Halls
Colorado School of Mines offers 3 Residence Hall Facilities for on-campus living. The Traditional Halls (Morgan, Thomas, Bradford, and Randall) provide the conventional style of hall living, while the Weaver Towers complex caters to those who prefer a smaller, suite-style of living and the Residence Halls at Mines Park offer apartment style living. All female floors in the Traditional Halls are locked 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Female students are issued a key to their respective floor for access. For security purposes, these keys are periodically checked for duplication, transfer of ownership, etc. The men's floors remain unlocked 24 hours a day throughout the academic year. In Weaver Towers, each suite member is issued a key for the suite door in addition to the room door. Exterior doors on the Traditional Halls and Weaver Towers are controlled by your Blaster Card. All exterior doors to the Traditional Halls and Weaver Towers are locked each day during the academic year at 7pm and reopen each morning at 6am (excluding break periods where the doors remain locked 24 hours a day).
All Resident Assistants have access to floor master keys for "lock-outs" on their floor and have access to building master keys for "lock-outs" on other floors or in other buildings.
There is at least one Hall Director per night and one Resident Assistant per building per night that has "on duty" status. Duty status begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 7:00 a.m. the following day. The staff member on duty responds to any noise disturbance calls, makes periodic rounds through the Residence Halls and stops by to communicate with the Hall Director on duty throughout their shift. The front desks are staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
There are several educational and social programs and/or floor meetings held throughout the year stressing the importance of "self-patrolling" of the buildings by the residents themselves. Residents are encouraged to report strangers, vandalism, and any suspicious activity to any staff member.
There is a "no-solicitation" policy in all Residence Halls at the Colorado School of Mines. Signage is posted at all entrances to buildings and violators are escorted off the premises immediately. Rosters and/or resident information are never posted publicly and only telephone numbers are available to requesters that know the first and last name of the resident.
Mines Park
The Mines Park apartment complex is located southwest of the 6 th Avenue and 19 th streets intersection on 55 acres owned by CSM. Mines Park offers easy walking access to the CSM campus. Each unit is equipped with data connections to the campus computing network. There is a community center that contains the laundry facility, kitchen and recreational/study space.
Mines Park has a total of 272 units for single students and families.
