Ore Cart Pull

Information

The Ore Cart Pull will begin at 8:30 AM on Friday, March 30th (Leaving from the IM Field Parking Lot). There will be free shirts to the first 300 participants. Wear comfortable clothing and sun tan lotion because we will be hiking to the Capitol. Once you are at the capitol there will be free Chipotle for those who listen to the proclamation by the lt. governor!!!

WHAT THE DICKENS?!?!

For some of you, you're reading this article thinking "What in the #$@% is this Ore Cart Pull and why would I want to get up early during E-Days for it?" The answer is simple: you've never experienced anything quite like it. So here's the scoop:

The fun begins Friday, March 30th at 8:30 AM (Leaving from the IM Field Parking Lot). We will be taking a bus with everyone down to Simms & Colfax. Here, we'll meet up with the Ore Cart and our police escorts and begin the journey to the State Capitol with the good 'ol ore cart in tow. We'll travel the 7 miles down Colfax followed by our beloved mascot Blaster and a few of his pals. Who hasn't always wanted to walk down Colfax with 300 other people and animals, creating traffic jams, getting honked at, and not even caring?

Upon arrival at the Capitol, an official proclamation by Lt. Governor Barbara O'Brien will be read declaring March 29th-31st, 2007 the 72nd Annual Engineering Day in Colorado.

After the ceremony, a FREE lunch from Chipotle will be served! And you'll even be back on campus by 2:00 pm for the start of the E-Days Events.

Life can't get much better than this! If you've ever been on the ore cart pull before, you know how much fun it can be, especially because of all the attention that you receive. Even better, the first 300 people to show up at 8:30 am will receive free t-shirts.

Now that you know what this Ore Cart Pull is, we had better see all of you there to support our campus and show the Golden and Denver communities who the Miners are! Tell everyone you know so we can have the biggest crowd ever! Remember, roller blades are both allowed and encouraged!
