An exchange visitor can be an individual coming to CSM to study, do post-doctoral work, research or teach some courses. If you are coming to CSM as an exchange visitor, you first must receive an invitation from a CSM academic department or institute.

 

You, the inviting CSM faculty member and the department head must complete the visiting scholar application. This along with your curriculum vitae, statement of financial support, and English proficiency (if your native tongue is other than English) are to be submitted to the International Student & Scholar Services Office.

 

ISSS Office will process the necessary documents to send to you, so you may go to the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to obtain a J-1 visa.  Your maximum period of stay can be up to 3 years; as with any non-resident visa, certain rules and restrictions apply. You will be informed about them through the international office
