MEETING MINUTES

April 14, 2008

EBWers,

We will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, April 15, at noon in Coolbaugh 137. I will be bringing lunch.

This week:
While Climate Action Days begins Wednesday, I want to devote the majority of our meeting to EBW's future. I will be brining copies of the by-laws and holding officer elections. I want to hash out where this club is going in the coming years. There is a proposition on the table to become a chapter of EWB (Engineers Without Borders) again. I will explain (as best I can) why we aren't still, and I would like to continue building a relationship with the Golden Rotaract. Please, EVERYONE, be at this meeting if you can. If anyone who cannot make the Tuesday lunch is interested in becoming part of the EBW leadership (and changing the meeting times to your liking), e-mail me at jfish@mines.edu ASAP.

Last week:
We spent the first fifteen minutes deciding on a poster design for the bike share program from a pile of drafts given to us by Shay. The drafts were designed by graphic arts students from CU Pueblo, in a class under the instruction of Shay's mom. We selected a good design by vote and made some changes of our own. Shay has resubmitted the chosen design and we should have 100 color copies to post around campus. We also have the drafts, so we can change up the advertising down the road since this project is a long-term commitment for EBW.

The rest of meeting was devoted to Climate Action Days. There are lots of things happening! Look for the posters with the windmills on them around campus this week. The first event is this Wednesday, April 16. I've outlined the full schedule below:

CLIMATE ACTION DAYS SCHEDULE!

Attendees will be able to post questions in real time with laptop computers. Contact Jon Meuser (jmeuser@mines.edu) for information. The event is free and will take place on Wednesday, April 16th, at 5pm, in Coolbaugh 209.

  7. Movie: "Soylent Green" put on by CSM Democrats and CSM Republicans in Berthoud Hall 241 at 7pm on Friday, April 25
So come out for these great events planned for the 2nd Annual Climate Action Days! If you'd still like to get involved helping out, we need people to come set up for the Earth Day celebration on April 25. Volunteers need to be at Kafadar Commons at 10am. We will begin setting up then, and feel free to leave if you have to at any point. Any other volunteering opportunities can be found through Jon Meuser (jmeuser@mines.edu).

See you all tomorrow!
