MEETING MINUTES

February 11, 2008

EBWers!

This week, we'll be meeting from 12-1 in CO137. It's Career Day, so if you have plans to be there, please do so. We'll be discussing the Bike Project in detail. A couple of us will be presenting on this project to the CSM Sustainability Committee on Thursday, February 14. The meeting is at 3pm in the Guggenheim Board room (3rd floor I believe). I encourage anyone interested in finding out about sustainability efforts on campus to attend. The meeting is open to the public.

As of last week's meeting:
We now have project leaders for all our projects!
  1. Water De-salinization in Bane, Senegal: Rob Conley
  2. Bicycle-powered water pump in Ghana: Alexander Gan
  3. Collecting, Repairing, Distributing Bicycles around campus and outside it: Ana Ruiz & Natalie Wagner
  4. Movement for better, more efficient Recycling/Sustainability on campus: Taylor Embury
There are several students working in each of these projects already, but we need more! If you're interested in any of the projects above, contact me (jfish@mines.edu) and I'll get you set up with the project leader.

EBW will have its first "No-work" meeting of the semester next Tuesday, February 19. We are tentatively going to show a video on sustainable architecture and enjoy each other's company. Food will, as usual, be provided. Noon to 1pm next Tuesday! We are looking for ideas for fun things to do during meetings, or outside them (group events, bowling, etc...). If you have any suggestions, contact me and we'll work to put it on the schedule.

The new EBW website will be up, running, and updated soon! We'll keep you posted, but the link will be the same: http://www.mines.edu/stu_life/organ/ebw/

Thank you to all of you who have gotten involved this year! It's been great getting this club up and going again.
