Sustainable water desalinization in Bane, Senegal
Goal: Provide the residents in the rural town of Bane, Senegal with a cheap, sustainable method for desalinizing their water sources. Description: This project came about when the club heard from a CSM professor's nephew serving in Bane as a Peace Corps volunteer. Since then, the EPICS department assigned the goal task to several dozen teams of freshman students in the EPICS 1 class. These teams came up with possible designs and presented them at the end of the fall 2007 semester. These designs are cataloged and EBW is working to find an optimal design to implement in Bane, using the Peace Corps volunteer as a contact.
