| HISTORY
- Who We Are |
The GSA is governed by an Executive Council of graduate student
representatives, one from each academic department offering graduate
degree programs. The Council meets every other week to make decisions
to guide GSA policies and activities, and the meetings are open to any
interested graduate students. Funding for the association is currently
set by the ASCSM, and the annual budget represents a significant
portion of graduate student fees allocated to student activities.
The GSA also is a member organization of the National Association of
Graduate and
Professional Students, and has a representative who attends the
national meeting when appropriate.
Six officers are elected to the GSA Executive Council each spring
semester. Terms last for one calendar year. They are President, V.P. of
International Students, V.P. of Communications, Social Chair, Academic
Chair, and Treasurer.
The positions, as well as rules for the conduct of meetings and other
useful information, may be found in the GSA
bylaws (in pdf format). |
