1976-95. During that time, he was also the head coach of the Varsity Lacrosse Program. Upon his retirement, the team was cut due to no coaching prospects. Now 11 years later, Bruce is being inducted into the Mines Athletics Hall of Fame. His contributions not only to lacrosse, but the whole school can still be seen today. The induction dinner will be Sept. 21st and the presentation ceremony the next day at Half-time of the Mines v. Chadron St. football game. Come check it out and remember a great coach! More INFO

8-17-07 Mines played an iron-man tournament in Steamboat this past weekend. Why Iron Man? Because we had none to 2 replacements for all of our games and we were keeping up with the best of them. Playing three games on Saturday, we lost all of them by only one goal. 6-7, 2-3 and 6-7. Ouch. Imagine what a few guys on the bench could have done.
Yet again, our picture was in the local paper. This time, the two goalies Chris Moore and Mike Stone were in it. Check the Steamboat Springs Article here. On Sunday, we had a consolation game against Regis and won 2-1. Only three minutes away from a shutout, Regis squeezed one by Mike Stone to get their hopes up, but Mines, with no replacements still came out on top.
It was a fun weekend and thanks to big Mike for opening up his bar and hospitality to us! Next time you're in Steamboat, check out the Pirate's Pub(1890 Ski Time Square Drive) in Downtown! I know the team is psyched for Fall Ball to start up because of this tourney. Go Mines!
8-9-07 The team now has a new domain! This site can be reached through www.mineslacrosse.com, so tell your friends! But don't worry! If you've already got the mines.edu site saved in your favorites, that will still work.
8-7-07 If you're in the Rocky Mountain area, take a ride down I-70 and join us for the Steamboat Tournament this weekend! A joint Mines team is playing in a mini tournament the 11th and 12th of August! Check out the good times, play, cheer, and drink....soda.
8-7-07 Again, check out the webshop and if you like the harrow shafts, you can buy it there, or email Mike Stone and save 5 bucks. But, please do it soon! We're pushing back the deadline for cutoff, but we need to order them soon if we want them before the season! New guys- you probably want one of these to complete the uniform! Alumni- not a bad deal either for your summer or indoor league!
8-6-07 This past weekend was the Breckenridge QuickStick Tournament. Mines had a few players join some of the free-lance teams for a great weekend of non-stop lacrosse! Bud Ribley played for Sidewinders along with Coach Applegate and alumni Danny Rabiolo, Mike Stone played for Team Bubbles, and Chris Moore played for Team Wicked and even made the local Summit newspaper! The tournament consited of 14 teams with players from all over the RMLC as well as plenty of older guys to make the games fun.

7-24-07 The Team WebShop has new and awesome gifts/shirts/shafts! Check them all out, but especially the shafts since we need to get in a big order to Harrow Sports. That way, we have a little time before the season to mess around with them. Prospects- you probably want them too! Alumni- You'd love it too! Cool Team Shafts
6-24-07 Wow, the summer can get busy, but there is a lot of recognition that needs to be handed out! This year, Mines had two players make All-American Honors! Freshman Steve Wheeler recieved Second Team Defensive Specialist and junior Trent Noonan recieved Honorable Mention Defense. Mines just gets better every year. Next year: 3!
ALSO!!! Scott O'Connor, Steve Wheeler, and Trent Noonan all recieved Academic All-America Recognition! Players second, students first. Nice job guys.
Let this be a lesson to us all- Hit the wall and hit the books!!!
5-12-07 Thanks to all who came to the end of the year team banquet last night. It was a great success with lots of good food and fun. The team did a great job this year.
Don't think that you have to wait until the season to start getting better. "Championship teams are made in off season." Starting TODAY, you will throw for 5 minutes against a wall. (2.5 lefty, 2.5 righty) Then go about your day. Also starting today, hit the weight room every other day. We're generally a small team and need to get stronger. Finally, every other day starting today, take a mile run. (It is not that far- just take a jog around your neighborhood.) Maybe you want to do it in the morning before you take your shower.
Don't put these things off until later. The time is now, so get to work. All this stuff goes for you new guys too! Have a great summer.
5-5-07 RMLC Div. B All-Conference Teams Released. Mines had 5 appearances this year including first teamers senior Scott O'Connor and freshman Steve Wheeler. Trent Noonan and Bud Ribley made 2nd team honors and Mike Stone made honorable mention. Congratulations to all the winners and good luck for All-America honors!
