In their second of two road games, Mines came out of Santa Fe with a 3-1 record after an upsetting 2-10 loss to Northern Arizona University.
Delayed 45minutes due to the referrees being late, Mines started strong and got on the board early during a man up opportunity in the first. It didn't take NAU long to come back and answer with two goals ending the first quarter 2-1.
After that, NAU picked away at Mine's defense as the Mines offense failed to create anything strong. NAU had some strong feeds and 80% of their goals were one on one with the goalie.
Finishing with one goal late in the third, Mines couldn't regroup to pull off a win. As Mines frantically tried to get the ball back, NAU scored three times in the last 6 minutes, one time to an open net. The game ended 2-10.
Thanks to NAU for having us and good luck with your season.
