Mines vs. UNO 3/1/08

The Mavericks jumped on the scoreboard only 5 seconds into the game as midfielder Bruce Hammond won the opening face-off and ripped a skip-shot from the top of the box to take the early one to nothing lead. That was the only wake up call the Oredigger defense needed as they shut the Mavericks down for the remainder of the game.

It took the Oredigger offense a little while to get going and they never really seemed to find a rhythm but ultimately they were able to match the team's highest scoring total since the 2005 season. Returning Honorable Mention All-American defensemen Trent Noonan was able to contribute to the offensive effort as he found the back of the net on a fast break in the second half. Face-off Specialist Michael Rensberger continued his success at the X creating opportunities on the fast break.
